The Left Hand of Darkness

I'm currently reading The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin for a book club at the library. It's a little hard to read because it takes place in a new made up world, but it's interesting. It has new vocabularies that's used only in this book. I'm barely on page 30 , better speed up.

Hm. Well I haven't read the book but I looked it up on Amazon.com. Wow! That is an old book! It's like sci-fi-ish, right? First I thought it was more like Lord of The Rings, but it sounds more like...spacey...

Stupid me, I forgot to write my name so now I have to do it all over again. Anyways, it is Sci-fi. It's about a person being an envoy on a planet called "Winter." He's try to convince the planet to join the intergalatic union. In this planet,patriotism means fear. The king in the planet says that he fears everything and fear rules people so he rules the people. Did I make sense? If not, you'd just have to read the book. On this planet, people can choose and change their gender. Some people have only one gender, and they are called "perverts" and are considered abnormal.

Yikes. So, when's the movie coming out?

I'll pick it up after I finish the many books awaiting on my homemade shelf.

But really most people find science fiction and fantasy to be interesting...and I wonder, if our lives were like fantasy/science fiction, would anyone write books about...how we live now. And would we, in our fantasy/sci-fi world, want to live like we currently do?

Movies??? I didn't know about any movies coming out...But your idea is very interesting about if we live in a sci-fi world...maybe you can write a book about a person who lives in a sci-fi world reading/writing a book about how we live...it'd be interesting.
